With the rapid progressing of science and technology, Impact on the measurement of price movement caused by the change of product quality is more and more obvious,and has become a challenge to current price index compilat ion. SNA has made some pre liminary discussion to this issue but not into details. In this art icle, authors po int out the internal relat ions betw een product quality and price index , discuss the theoretical def init ion of quality index, and study the compilat ion of individual quality index and ensemble quality index.
